EPISODE 03- Our guest is Jamila ‘Mimi’ Trent. She is the Housing Counselor for the non-profit organization Central Detroit Christian Community Development Corporation (CDC). 

Born and raised in Detroit, MI, Mimi moved to the greater Nashville area in 1994 and returned to her hometown of Detroit, MI, in 2021. While in Nashville, she received her bachelor’s degree in religious studies and Ph.D. in Social Justice. She was an active member of the church and in the community. She was a Community/Volunteer coordinator with the NAACP in Nashville and Murfreesboro, TN; a board member with Bradley Academy Historical Museum (Murfreesboro, TN) and IDA Cares (Nashville, TN); a freelance writer with The Spiritual Herald (Murfreesboro, TN); participated in the Taking the Streets Back Campaign, and WNSG Toy Drive (Nashville, TN); worked in the breach consulting industry for nearly 15 years; became a HUD certified Housing Counselor, to name a few. She wanted to bring her community engagement experience back to her hometown.
