Get Ready for Expungement!

What is Expungement?

In Michigan, expungement allows for many state criminal offenses to be expunged - or set aside. When a record is set aside, it is no longer accessible to the general public.

How can I prepare for Expungement?

Identifying and correcting common barriers to expungement eligibility is a good first step in preparing for expungement. Open judicial segments, warrants, and unpaid court fees/restitutions can prevent an individual from moving forward with the expungement process, and possibly prevent automatic expungement which is expected to take effect in April 2023.
