Riverside Park

Pavillion

This year the City will renovate the remaining 13 acres of the park, creating a promenade for festivals, a great lawn area, fishing boardwalks, sledding hill, picnic shelter, fitness equipment, play area and splash pad as well as a concessions facility.  Construction for these improvements will begin in spring. 

Basketball Court 

There have been a series of community input meeting throughout this multi-year project, including creation of a Riverside Park Advisory Council to voice resident interest and concerns throughout the process. 

Dog Park

Some of the improvements and park expansions are from a land conversion process, detailed in documents listed.

Playground

The City is thrilled to be able to turn this cherished but deteriorated riverfront space in southwest Detroit into a world class park for all residents and future generations to enjoy.
