The City of Detroit Public Health Emergency Preparedness is Looking For Volunteers for Thursday, September 19.

The City of Detroit is issuing a call for volunteers for the Medical Reserve Corps to participate in the 2019 Public Health Emergency Preparedness Exercise on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at 11:00 am – 2:00 pm at Heilmann Recreation Center, 19601 Crusade Street, Detroit, MI 48205.

The Detroit Health Department encourages turning awareness into action by encouraging all individuals to participate. All Detroiters with varying skills can sign-up. 

Volunteers will work in coordination with existing local emergency response programs and also supplement existing community public health initiatives, such as outreach and prevention, immunization programs, blood drives, case management, care planning, and other efforts. 

The Medical Reserve Corp is a group of volunteers that offer their assistance throughout the year as well as during local emergencies. 

Volunteers must be at least age 18 and bring a picture ID.
