The Joe Louis Greenway is a proposed 27.5-mile pathway for walkers, joggers, and cyclists. The goal of this presentation is to share the designs of the Dequindre Cut extension between E Warren and E Grand Boulevard, installing bike lanes on Hamtramck Drive, removing bike lanes from St. Aubin, and the security system features of the Joe Louis Greenway to maximize safety. Full construction costs for this 3-mile phase is approximately $20.9M and includes environmental remediation, security cameral network, walking and running paths, bike lanes removal and installation, stormwater infrastructure, a rail crossing and street furniture.

Installation of the bike lanes will cost approximately $2.7M. Installation of the camera surveillance technology for the entire loop is estimated at $1.8M. Bike lane removal on St. Aubin will cost $3,000.00
