Detroit Community Emergency Response Team Training

detroit city   The Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management (DHSEM) facilitates a 4-day training course for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers. The next CERT training is on the following days:

Thursday, March 23, 5:30 pm - 9 pm

Friday, March 24, 5:30 pm - 9 pm

Saturday, March 25, 10 am - 4 pm

Saturday, April 1, 10 am - 4 pm

Free CERT training includes disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, terrorism, use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), wound dressing, basic medical treatment such as treatment of burns, fractures, sprains and hypothermia, and other life-saving techniques. Training is provided by the Detroit Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Detroit Fire Department and Detroit EMS.
