D1 Monthly Community Meeting -- September

IT’S NEARLY ELECTION TIME! DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE 2018 MICHIGAN BALLOT PROPOSALS? WE’VE GOT THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS

Voting is your right and your duty. This meeting is the ONLY place in D1 to learn all you need to know about Proposals 1, 2 and 3 from the people behind the initiatives prior to Election Day. This gives YOU the best opportunity to discuss these very important proposals with the people organizing them so you can make the best decision possible on November 6th.

PROPOSAL 1: Legalization of marijuana for recreational use. Representatives from the Coalition to Regulate Marijuana Like Alcohol will give details on this proposal.

PROPOSAL 2: would create a 13-member independent redistricting commission to draw the state's congressional and legislative districts maps. A representative from Voters Not Politicians will offer full details on this proposal.
 
PROPOSAL 3: Would add the following policies to the Michigan Constitution: straight ticket voting; automatic voter registration; same-day voter registration; and no-excuse absentee voting during the 40 days before an election. A representative from Promote the Vote will explain this ballot proposal in greater detail.
