4th Annual Construction Conference virtually

  • The popular conference will focus on the procurement process and preparation needed to do business with the City of Detroit
  • It’s an on-going effort to outreach to small and minority-based businesses in Detroit to share contract opportunities related to Detroit Future Fund (ARPA) and other projects
  • For the first time, the Construction Conference is a 2-day event and will be virtual

The City of Detroit is hosting its 4th Annual Construction Conference in a continued effort to increase work opportunities for small and minority-owned businesses in Detroit. Conference attendees will learn about the procurement process and the preparation needed to do business with the City.  Procurement officials will also share helpful resources and information necessary to become certified vendors/contractors. The primary area of focus will be on residential rehab and infrastructure improvement opportunities for contractors to support the city’s many efforts connected to Detroit Future Fund (ARPA) programs like Renew Detroit and other construction projects.

Attendees will also learn about the latest construction contracting opportunities with the various City departments including the Detroit Land Bank. In addition, the conference will cover bonding, insurance, permitting, access to capital and will include a discussion panel of current contractors working with the City.

For the first time, the event will take place over 2-days, Friday and Saturday, January 21, and 22 and will be held virtually. The following is a break-down of each day:
