Northwest Activities Center Park

Northwest Activities Center Park (18100 Meyers Rd) is a small neighborhood park at Curtis and Meyers, behind the recreation center.  The park currently has a playground,  garden, small picnic shelter, grass field and walking loop.  The City of Detroit Parks and Recreation Division (DPRD) recently received funding for improvements at this Park.  

Construction for this project will start in the summer of 2024 and be completed in the fall.

 

DPRD has held two meetings to hear what improvements would best serve local residents and families, the draft design shown below is based on that feedback.  Please provide comments on the draft design and tell us what play and fitness amenities you and your family would like to see in the park:

Based on past engagement the above draft plan shows a new asphalt walking path, with distance and 100 yard dash signage.  There are also new picnic tables, benches, trash cans and trees along the pathway, keeping the middle of the park open for games, etc.  Other new amenities include a picnic shelter with grill, tables and coal bin, as well as expanding the existing playground and adding outdoor fitness equipment.  The below survey asks questions are about specific pieces of play and fitness equipment: TAKE THE SURVEY HERE
