DDOT's Paratransit Services
DDOT’s paratransit service is a specialized, point-to-point shared ride service serving eligible individuals with disabilities who cannot navigate fixed route buses.
Am I eligible?
- Applicants must be unable to independently board, ride and/or disembark from a ramp-equipped fixed route bus due to a disability, verified by a professional familiar with the applicant’s limitations.
How do I apply for certification?
- Download an application by visiting the application page.
- All instructions for submission are in the application.
- Applications are available in English, Spanish and Arabic.
Where can I take Paratransit?
- Up to 3/4 mile on either side of a DDOT bus route (scroll down the page for a reference map).
- Not sure? Call 313.774.5555 to see if your pick-up/drop-off locations are within the service area.
- Remain at your pickup location until the driver arrives.
- Find a safe place to wait for your return trip. If a paratransit transfer is needed, ask DDOT’S scheduler for nearby transfer shelters.
