Tax Withholding (Federal, State and City of Detroit) update = I want to change my tax withholding? (or) My Tax withholding is wrong, how do I correct this?

Retirement = How do I apply for Retirement? (submit you Retirement Intake form to Employee Services, you are encouraged to initiate the process at least 90 days ahead of your last day worked or at least 2 weeks prior to your last day at work). Also inform your supervisor.

Resignation: I want to resign from my Job at City of Detroit. What should I do?

Contact your Employee Services Consultant or calling 313-224-8584, choose option 7 and request Resignation form.

Complete the Resignation form and return to your Employee Services Consultant.

Inform your supervisor at least 2 weeks prior to your resignation and co-operate with your supervisor / department in the exit process by returning City issued equipment or making arrangements to return to your supervisor.

Re-instatement: I am a former employee interested in returning back to my prior job. What should I do?

Provided such application is submitted within one year after leaving City service and provided the applicant meets the other eligibility requirements as set forth in the Civil Service Rules.

Complete it and submit. It will be provided to Recruitment and if there is an opening and you still meet all the requirements of the job, you may be considered and contacted by Recruitment as applicable.

How should I report Job Related Accident / Injury?

Please inform your supervisor as soon as possible. You or your supervisor will complete a First-Aid report and will have you complete an "Employee Accident or Disability Report".

These reports will be sent to Workers Compensation at Risk Management and to Employee Services. Risk Management General Information 313-224-2282, Office Hours: 8 AM to 4 PM.
