The Human Resources Department, Employee Services Division is committed to providing continued service to all City of Detroit staff and visitors. However due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, access to Employee Services will be modified by limiting (as much as possible) all face-to-face contact with our customers.

Attached is a copy of the Employee Services Directory, which includes all of our Consultant/Manager staff, the departments they service, emails and contact numbers. In the event your department’s hours are 24/7, your designated Employee Services Consultant or Manager will be available to assist you. Currently, the following locations will continue to have Employee Services staff on site Monday – Friday (8am – 5pm).

UIA Work Search Concern:
According to State of Michigan UIA all individuals whom currently collect UIA Benefits must complete the work search form no matter employment status.
If you have questions or concerns regarding work search please contact State of Michigan UIA, a wavier may be provided due to your current Furlough status with the City of Detroit.
CLAIMANTS: Call the agency 866-500-0017 push any prompt to reach claim inquiry or claim filing, agents. ASK TO BE TRANSFERRED to EFC customer service.
The start of the program will be implemented May 30, 2021 and is implemented through the State of Michigan/UIA.

American Rescue Plan
The U.S. Congress has passed a new COVID-19 relief plan that continues federal unemployment insurance programs until September 4,2021.
The legislation will,
Extend Pandemic Unemployment Assistance (PUA) and Pandemic Emergency Unemployment Compensation (PEUC) until Sept. 4, 2021. Continue federal Pandemic Unemployment Compensation (PUC) to provide all eligible unemployment recipients with an additional $300 per week through Sept. 4, 2021. The $300 is in addition to claimants' usual weekly benefit amount.
