Coronavirus COVID-19 Water Restart Plan
The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) has restored water service to nearly 1,300 occupied homes, many of which needed plumbing repairs, under the COVID-19 Water Restart Plan announced by Mayor Mike Duggan and Governor Gretchen Whitmer on March 9, 2020. Mayor Duggan announced the extension of the water service interruption moratorium through 2022 while DWSD works with legislators and community partners on a long-term water affordability solution.
