McNichols Streetscape Project

The City of Detroit has completed the McNichols Streetscape Project in the Fall of 2021.

Construction of the McNichols Streetscape project began in the Summer of 2020 and was completed by 2021. The project included new sidewalk, lighting, landscaping, traffic calming measures, street resurfacing and pavement markings and signage. 

What changes happened?

The project encompassed a range of improvements including: new sidewalks, upgraded lighting, and refreshed landscaping. It also included street resurfacing, updated pavement markings, and new signage. Key features were raised curbs, curb extensions, protected bike lanes, crosswalks, road islands, pocket parking, and tree planting. 

Where?

The streetscape project limits are Greenlawn to Livernois.
