Overview 

The Detroit Business Opportunity Program (DBOP) Business Register Dashboard is an interactive tool that helps users explore certified businesses through the City of Detroit. It allows agencies, contractors, businesses, and the public to search for certified businesses by location, industry, council district, ZIP Code, and certification type. The dashboard provides valuable insights into Detroit's certified business community while making it easier to identify qualified businesses for procurement, subcontracting, partnerships, and other business opportunities. 

How Display Works

The dashboard is organized into five main sections that work together. Selecting filters or interacting with the charts automatically updates the information displayed throughout the dashboard.

Buttons

• DBOP Application Status (✔️) > Located on the top right corner redirects you to application status page.
• Business Register > Located in the bottom right corner Returns to the main Business Registry dashboard.
• Information icon(ℹ️) > Located on the top provides certification abbreviations and additional information.
• Reset Filters > Located on the top Clears all active filters and restores the dashboard to its default view. 

Filter Section

Use the filters at the top of the dashboard to quickly narrow your search and locate businesses that meet your criteria.

Available filters include:

• Business Name
• Council District
• ZIP Code
• Industry 
• Certification Type 

The filters can be used individually or together to refine your results. 

Map Section

The map provides a geographic overview of certified businesses across the ZIP Code locations.

• Areas showing darker colors have a higher number of certified businesses.
• Areas with a duller/paler color have fewer certified businesses.
• Hover over a ZIP Code to view the ZIP code and their number of certified businesses in that ZIP code locality. 

Analytics & Charts

The charts provide a quick summary of the certified business registry and can also be used as interactive filters.

• Currently Certified Businesses – Displays the total number of active certified businesses currently shown in the dashboard.
• Minority-Owned Business Enterprise – Shows the distribution of Minority-Owned Business Enterprise classifications. Selecting a category filters the dashboard to businesses within that group.
• Business Certifications – Displays the number of businesses by certification type. Selecting a certification filters the dashboard accordingly.
• Leading Industries – Displays the leading industry categories. This chart provides an overall view of the most common industries among certified businesses. Unlike the other charts on the dashboard, the Leading Industries chart is static. 

Certified Business Register

The Business Register displays detailed information for every business matching your current selections. As filters are applied from the Filter Section, Map, or Charts, the register updates automatically, making it easy to identify businesses, review their certifications, and access their contact information.

Application Status

Select the DBOP Application Status button in the upper-right corner of the dashboard to view businesses currently progressing through the certification process. This page displays each business and its current application status, along with a reference explaining the meaning of each status. Use the Business Register button to return to the main dashboard.
