Surveillance Technology Specification Report 2023
This Report defines the specifications, purpose, and fiscal impact of proposed surveillance equipment for the DFD.
The goal of the Media Services Department is to provide the City and its residents informative and engaging content through television, social media, web, and print. Additional drone technology will enhance the department’s ability to provide visual context to the content they provide.

The Detroit Police Department seeks to expand dumping camera technology to assist in sensitive investigations.
July 17th, 2024 - The Detroit Police Department - NOVO Digital Radiography Technology
The Detroit Police Department seeks an upgrade for the X-ray technology, NOVO Digital Radiography, to assist in sensitive investigations. This technology produces digital x-ray images of suspicious packages, allowing the operator to view the contents.
June 19, 2024 - The Detroit Police Department - Skydio Unmanned Aerial System
The Detroit Police Department seeks Unmanned Aerial Vehicle technology that can offer a wide range of services ranging from scarch and rescue, crime/accident scene investigation, mental health incidents and tactical overhead views of a critical incident scene.
October 10, 2024 - The Detroit Police Department - Dumping Cameras
The Detroit Police Department (DPD) seeks to expand dumping camera technology to assist in sensitive investigations. The technology is currently deployed at various locations through cameras that are integrated in Genetec.
February 27, 2024 - The Detroit Police Department - Surveillance Van Technology
The Detroit Police Department (DPD) seeks undercover van technology to assist in sensitive investigations. The Burke services upgrade to the existing undercover van will replace existing technology and replicate existing capabilities.
The City of Detroit's Office of Mobility Innovation (OMI) previously secured 100% federally funded award from the USDOT Strengthening Mobility and Revolutionizing Transportation (SMART) grant program for the Detroit Mobility Optimization through Data for Equity and Safety (Detroit MODES) initiative. This project aims to reduce traffic fatalities and enhance transportation-safety and operations equity for Detroiters, especially in Historically Disadvantaged Communities (HDCs)

The B2B Corridors’ certified drone pilot will use the drone equipment stated in this document.
City of Detroit Recreation Department security - Recreation Dept Security Specification Report
The City of Detroit General Service Department is looking to install security cameras on the exterior and parking lots of the recreation centers stated in this document. The goal of the cameras is to protect the recreation centers and surrounding parking lots from criminal activity.
The Detroit Fire Department - Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology
The Detroit Fire Department is seeking Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology that can offer a wide range of services ranging from search and rescue to providing overhead and tactical views of a fire scene. The UAV technology will assist Firefighters to collect vital information about ongoing fires with the primary goal of providing situational awareness in the event of a fire.
