Detroit Health Department offers free health screenings and resources for Detroiters during Public Health Week
The Detroit Health Department is proud to announce its participation in the national celebration of Public Health Week from April 8 to April 12. This year's theme is, “It Starts Here,” and will highlight the importance of accessible healthcare, wellness resources, and community empowerment.
Throughout the week, Detroit residents will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of free health services and activities aimed at improving their health and well-being. These events will be held at various Detroit Police Department Precincts, Detroit Recreation Centers, and community partner locations across the city. No appointment, ID, or health insurance is required to participate in any of the services offered.
The Detroit Health Department, in partnership with local organizations and community leaders, is committed to promoting public health and raising awareness of critical health issues affecting Detroit residents.
Public Health Week activities will include:
- Free general health screenings
- Narcan distribution and training
- Immunizations
- Lead screenings
- Vision and hearing screenings
- Food, games, activities, and more!
- Ceasefire Peace Walk
These services are designed to address some of the most pressing health concerns in the city, as well as foster a sense of community involvement in wellness initiatives.
