Detroit Families Are Reclaiming Their Homes!
Today, the Detroit Land Bank (DLBA) and community partners celebrate another successful summer exit of the DLBA’s Occupied Buy Back Program.
In 2024, 88 Detroiters who had a documented connection to a Land Bank owned home completed the program and officially became homeowners.
Through a year of financial counseling, homeowner workshops, and saving toward property taxes, participants gained the tools and support needed for long-term stability.
Since 2016, more than 1,300 Detroiters have successfully exited the Buy Back program and received the deeds to their homes, transforming once uncertain housing into lasting opportunities.
