DDOT to reinstate two routes, open Rosa Parks Transit Center

2022
DDOT Rider Alert

Based on feedback from transit riders and a return to pre-COVID operations, the Detroit Department of Transportation will fully open Rosa Parks Transit Center to the public and restore partial service to two of its suspended routes.

Beginning Saturday, April 23, Rosa Parks Transit Center will open to full operation. In addition to the cashier’s office, restrooms, and a Transit Police station, the center will be available for traveling passengers to wait for their bus inside.

Effective Monday, April 25, weekday service will be restored to the 11 Clairmount and 47 Tireman routes. These two routes were among those suspended or had frequency reduced in November.

“I am pleased to announce that DDOT is out in front on service restoration,” says DDOT’s Executive Director of Transit C. Mikel Oglesby. “Through the continued hard work of our employees and the steady hiring of new bus operators, we can continue to provide safe and effective service to even more of our regular transit riders. You spoke and we listened.”

DDOT continues to hire additional operators and mechanics, which is expected to enable DDOT to provide more frequent and reliable service. Visit www.detroitmi.gov/driveforddot for job listings and more information.
