Accounting Aid Society - Awarded $70,789 To provide free tax preparation and counseling assistance to Low/Mod income Detroit households; provides education in financial management  (Education)

Bridging Communities - Awarded $74,789 for senior activities; non-medical transportation to doctor’s visits, and nutritional support. Volunteer training to provide small home repairs and home chore services. (Seniors)

Clark Park Coalition - Awarded $74,789 for providing youth with after-school and summer recreational, educational, and sports programs that increase life and social skills; assisting with homework; teaching healthy eating and nutrition education; and providing youth employment opportunities. (Recreation)

Center for Employment Opportunities - Awarded $78,199 for services that include Workforce readiness training, Job coaching and Development, and Post-placement retention services(Education)

Cody Rouge Community Action Alliance - Awarded $65,789 for promoting the personal development of the neighborhood's youth by providing them with opportunities to engage in authentic decision-making and strong adult-youth partnerships through recreational programming and the Cody Rouge Youth Services Council. (Recreation)

Give Merit - Awarded $78,199 for providing a cohort-based college readiness and leadership experience for high school students. The program provides project-based learning, entrepreneurship, career exposure, character development, & mentorship.  (Education)

DAPCEP (Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program) - Awarded $65,789 for partnering with universities, training programs, and K-12 school systems in order to connect youth to the best science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) educational experiences. (Education)

Delray United Action Council - Awarded $70,789  for providing transportation to senior residents living within the project area who are in need of transportation to school to obtain their GED, medical appointments, food shopping, and to the Delray Center. DUAC also has an adult day care program that provides food & friendship/congregate meals, arts & crafts, and senior outings. (Seniors)


Detroit Phoenix Center – Awarded $78,199 for providing a safe and educational after-school experience for students in grades 8th-12th who are Mckinney Vento Eligible. Mckinney Vento is a federal law that guarantees equal access to public education for homeless children and youth. (Education)

Dominican Literacy Center - Awarded $78,199 for providing educational programs to tutor adults to read, write, and perform basic math operations, GED preparation, as well as learning computer skills. (Education)

Family Assistance for Renaissance Men – Awarded $60,789 for providing job training, mentorship, and legal assistance to low-income Detroit fathers. (Education)


International Institute of Metropolitan Detroit - Awarded $90,789 to prepare low-income Detroiters with the basic literacy, workforce preparation, and training needed to advance economic mobility and eliminate prolonged barriers. (Education)

Jefferson East, Inc. - Awarded $60,789 for providing the community with supplemental police patrols, crime statistic monitoring, resident safety organizing, safety assessments, target hardening services, and domestic violence prevention and recovery services. (Public Safety)

Neighborhood Legal Services- Awarded $65,789.00 for providing comprehensive case management services, including legal representation and appropriate referrals to victims of human trafficking. ( Public Safety)

LASED (Latin Americans for Social and Economic Development) - Awarded $70,789 for operating a senior center in Southwest Detroit which operates a food and friendship program, and health and disease prevention classes for primarily Hispanic senior citizens who are monolingual or limited English-speaking. (Seniors)

Luella Hannan Memorial Foundation (Hannan Center) - Awarded $82,200 for providing activities to fund nutrition, legal, transportation, and elder abuse casework. (Seniors)

Matrix Human Services - Awarded $65,789 for providing case management for seniors, food assistance, transportation to doctor's appointments, and socialization activities: attending wellness centers, shopping, etc. (Seniors)

Mercy Education Project - Awarded $78,199 for providing educational opportunities, life skills development, and cultural enrichment to help at-risk girls and women in Southwest Detroit. (Education)

My Community Dental Center - Awarded $82,199 for providing free dental services, including surgery, fillings, full and partial dentures to low/mod residents, and free prescriptions to low-income patients in need of continuous medications. (Health)

Project Healthy Community - Awarded $82,199 for providing the Family Wellness Program to improve the health of Detroit residents through improved health literacy, health behaviors, nutrition, and exercise. The program seeks to strengthen the relationship between participants and their primary care providers. (Health)

SER Metro Detroit - Awarded $70,789 for providing an Educational GED and Workforce Development program. Adult Basic Education programs provide Detroit youth and adults education in literacy, mathematics, and science. (Education)

Siena Literacy Center - Awarded $70,789 for providing basic Adult Education and Literacy services and support to adults so they can successfully pursue personal goals, which include entering advanced/secondary education or workforce training, developing consumer skills, obtaining driver's license, and developing skills to navigate life and society (Education)

Brilliant Detroit - Awarded $65,789 for providing literacy support, STEM programming, and educational enrichment activities to children ages 0 - 8. (Education)

St. Patrick Senior Center - Awarded $90,789 for providing nonemergency medical and basic needs transportation, operating a senior on-site medical clinic, enhancing senior fitness, and an on-site full meal. (Seniors)

St. Vincent and Sarah Fisher Center - Awarded $70,789 for providing preparation for successful completion of the GED exam and assisting residents to become economically self-sufficient / Offered to adults 18 years and older. (Education)

Southwest Economic Solution Corporation - Awarded $70,789 for providing MathUp, an accelerated GED program for adult learners that addresses the significant challenges of passing the math portion of the GED exam. (Education)

Southwest Detroit Business Association - Awarded $60,789 for providing recreation opportunities for youth ages 9-18 with the COMPAS music, dance, and theatre programs. (Recreation)

Cass Community Social Services - Awarded $60,789 to train unemployed and underemployed adults to succeed in living wage jobs in the 21st Century Green Economy in metropolitan Detroit. (Education)

The Greening of Detroit - Awarded $65,789 for providing job training and placement services for adults through the Detroit Conservation Corps through classroom instruction, hands-on training, certification opportunities, and integrated support services. (Education)

The Youth Connection - Awarded $70,789 for providing youth programming in environmental conservation, outdoor recreation, community service projects, and on-the-job training. (Education)

Urban Neighborhood Initiative - Awarded $70,789 for out-of-school education for youth ages 5-14/after school and summer enrichment programs/ sports/ STEM, art, and computer. (Education)

Wellspring - Awarded $90,790 for providing math and reading curriculum, recreation, field trips, college prep, community service, outdoor adventure, and leadership development for youth and young adults. (Education)

World Medical Relief - Awarded $74,789 for operating an Affordable Prescription Program, providing prescription medication to individuals 18 and older who do not have financial resources or insurance to pay retail price for their medication. (Health)

Detroit Horse Power - Awarded $82,199  to equip Detroit youth with the strengths of character that will allow them to graduate high school with the choice of college or career, through afterschool horse training programming and more. (Recreation)

Joy-Southfield CDC- Awarded $60,789 to help identify health and wellness disparities in the community and respond to those needs through nutritional learning sessions, and exercise classes. The program also provides groceries and prepared hot meals on a monthly basis to needed families and seniors. ( Health)
