Elmwood Central Park

Elmwood-Central Park (2019 Thornhill Place) is a 15.51-acre park located in the Lafayette Park neighborhood in the City of Detroit. The park has a large central area with a ½ mile walking loop, expansive mounded green space, a small playground area, and multiple branches of walkways extending through surrounding living communities connecting them to the park. Various intersections of the walkways feature an architectural concrete jointing pattern, including sculptural blocks in two areas.

The project aims to replace aging walkways, restore architectural features, and implement amenities as desired and determined by the community.

Based on results from the first community survey, the landscape architect has created 3 concept plans incorporating the most requested elements into the layout of the park. Below find the link to the PARK CONCEPT SURVEY. Questions will assist our landscape architect in developing a more detailed design.
