DCLEATED Sculpture Project

City Walls, Detroit Medical Center,  Spacelab Detroit, & Visit Detroit are excited to announce a unique art installation project for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft happening in Detroit, DCLEATED. 

The NFL Draft is a major event that attracts hundreds of thousands of fans from all over the world and will be in Detroit this coming April. It is also a highly televised event, with many further millions of viewers tuning in to watch the next generation of NFL stars make their way to the professional ranks. 

For the upcoming event, Prop Art Studios fabricated twenty colossal football cleats and are looking for talented Detroit artists to customize them. Each of which chose a local & Detroit-based causes/non-profit/charity. Local artists, chosen by their communities, have partnered with local organizations for a unique project: designing custom cleats to uplift important causes they're passionate about. This exciting opportunity showcases Detroit's creativity while raising awareness and support for these community causes. These passionate artists see the cleats as canvases to tell stories and spread awareness for chosen non-profits and charities. Each design reflects the artist's vision and the cause they advocate for.

By combining artistic expression with community support, this project celebrates Detroit's talent and spirit while making a real difference.

The cleats will be displayed during the month of April 2024 in and around the heart of downtown Detroit, along with Metro Airport & City Airport. 

When the NFL Draft concludes, the cleats will be auctioned off individually at a community event held at The Godfrey Hotel in May, with all the proceeds from the sale of the cleats to benefit the local cause represented by the cleat.
