Mobile Fire Safety House
The Community Relations Division of the Detroit Fire Department uses the Mobile Fire Safety House to teach children about fire prevention, detection and evacuation using hands-on methods. The Mobile Fire Safety House features multiple rooms and simulated hazards like smoke and heat to emphasize the importance of knowing when to evacuate and having a plan. It is a fun and interactive way to educate children and their families about fire prevention and risk reduction in our day-to-day lives. The exercises equip participants with the knowledge to prevent fires and respond properly should a fire occur in their homes.
