About
The Detroit Community Data Health Initiative (CDHI) is a 2-year, grant-funded project housed in the City of Detroit's Office of Sustainability. Part of a national initiative launched in 2022 and supported by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and The Kresge Foundation, CDHI expands cities' capacity to address environmental challenges that directly impact public health—starting with air pollution and extreme heat. Through collaboration with the Data-Smart City Solutions program at Harvard's Bloomberg Center for Cities, the Environmental Defense Fund, the African American Mayors Association, and Meharry Medical College, the Detroit initiative seeks to transform local data, community insights, and cross-sector partnerships into targeted solutions.
