DWSD EasyPay $10 Down Plan

The EasyPay Plan was developed by DWSD for Detroit residents that experience difficulty in paying past due water and sewerage bills. 
There are no income restrictions to quality.

Detroit Smoke Alarm Program

The Detroit Fire Department has launched a large-scale smoke alarm installation initiative through October 2025, aiming to install 5,000 smoke alarms in Detroit homes.

DDOT Drivers Wanted

 

Drivers and Mechanics Wanted

If you are interested in being a vital member of a team that helps Detroiters get to where they need to be, apply for one of our driver or non-driver positions.

We are looking for dedicated employees who can provide excellent customer service while being the Motor that moves the City. We offer a competitive salary, health and dental plans, a pension package, and more.

Operator duties include operating motor coaches and wheelchair lifts, collecting and ensuring correct fare, providing location and stop information when necessary, maintaining a clean vehicle, completing route paperwork, and maintaining a route schedule. Minimum qualifications include completion of high school or G.E.D. and a valid Michigan driver’s license.

City offers Respite Locations and Warming Centers to help residents escape the cold

With frigid temperatures already here, the City is reminding residents that warming centers and respite locations are open to provide relief from the cold.

Currently, the City of Detroit has more than 1,200 shelter and warming center beds it operates with its local partners. Come January 1, 2025, that number will increase to just over 1,400 shelter beds.
