Final yard waste collection begins Monday, Dec. 11
- Residents advised to put out all remaining yard waste on their regularly scheduled pick up date between Dec. 11-22
- Crews will pick up bagged leaves and appropriately bundled brush
- Yard Waste collection will resume in April 2024
City of Detroit Department of Public Works (DPW) wants to remind residents the deadline for yard waste collections is this month. Monday, December 11 begins the last two-week cycle for yard waste pick up. The week of December 11 will be the last collection for Detroiters who are scheduled for bulk/yard waste pick up next week. Collection for yard waste will not resume until April 2024.
Christmas and New Year’s will postpone trash, recycling, and bulk pickups by a day because those holidays are on weekdays this year. In addition, collections of Christmas trees will be from January 2 to 12.
To find out your scheduled collection dates, visit www.detroitmi.gov and enter you address in the "My Home info" field. Residents also can sign up to receive text alert reminders the day before their next scheduled pickup by texting their street address to 313-800-7905.
