Detroit’s air quality has returned to Good (Green AQI; 0–50) today, Wednesday, July 22, following several days of Canadian wildfire smoke. Air quality is satisfactory and poses little or no risk, and residents can resume normal outdoor activities.

With air quality back in the Good range, we will pause routine daily updates unless conditions significantly worsen. Check AirNow.gov for current conditions.

Free Masks Available

Detroit, protect yourself and your loved ones. To help you stay safe, the Detroit Health Department is offering FREE MASKS while supplies last. Residents are encouraged to stop by during the designated pickup hours to receive free masks. Wearing a mask can help reduce the spread of respiratory illnesses and protect those who are most vulnerable in our community.

Masks will be distributed during normal operating hours while supplies last at ALL City Recreation Centers.
