The City of Detroit Construction and Demolition Department is proud to announce the return of "Detroit Demo Week" a week-long initiative designed to foster community engagement and support the ongoing efforts to remove blight and make way for beauty. This exciting week of programming kicks off with a live residential demolition and open Q&A. Events throughout the week will include dynamic live demolitions, a city-wide job fair, interactive discussions with construction and demolition leaders, and the spring kickoff of Cruisin' with Counts.

"Demolition is more than just tearing down buildings—it’s about rebuilding communities and restoring hope,” said Director Tim Palazzolo, Construction & Demolition Department. “Detroit Demo Week gives us the chance to connect with residents, answer their questions, and show firsthand how our work is transforming neighborhoods. We’re committed to transforming Detroit’s neighborhoods from blight to beauty, one demolition at a time."
