This event will be traveling through Detroit and is hosted by the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics. It is a national awareness run featuring law enforcement, corrections professionals, and Special Olympics athletes as they travel through major cities across the United States. The purpose of the run is to raise awareness and support for the 2026 Special Olympics USA Games, which will be held in Minnesota and bring together athletes from across the nation. Special Olympics Michigan will send a group of athletes, along with a Michigan law enforcement officer, to participate in this national awareness event and proudly represent our state.
