Freedom Festival: A Juneteenth Celebration
Mark your calendars for the first annual Freedom Festival: A Juneteenth Celebration.
Join us on Saturday, June 20th, from 12-4 pm at the Joy and Spinoza Green Space at Rouge Park for a day filled with cultural recognition from the continent of Africa to the streets of Detroit, free food, intergenerational family games, bounce houses, health screenings, live performances, community resources, and more!
This celebration of Black culture, Black history, Black resistance, Black art, and Black community invites District 7 residents and friends across the city to commemorate Juneteenth as more than a federal holiday, but a cultural commemoration of freedom.
Stay tuned as we rollout performers and vendors.
Registration is open and volunteers are needed. Visit bit.ly/d7freedom to sign up now.
I can’t wait to celebrate the culture with you!
