Detroit Community Emergency Response Team Training
The City of Detroit Office of Homeland Security & Emergency Management (DHSEM) facilitates a 4-day training course for Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers. The next CERT training will be as follows:

Thursday, February 20, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Friday, February 21, 5:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Saturday, February 22, 10 am - 2 pm
Saturday, March 1, 10 am - 2 pm
Participants must attend all 4 training days.
The free CERT training includes disaster preparedness, fire safety, disaster medical operations, light search and rescue, disaster psychology, terrorism, the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED), how to bandage wounds, basic medical treatment such as how to treat burns, fractures, strains, and hypothermia, and other life-saving techniques. The training is conducted by the Detroit Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management, Detroit Fire Department, and Detroit EMS.
