Board of Water Commissioners BOWC Telephonic Meeting

2020

To mitigate the spread of COVID-19, to protect public health, and provide essential protections to vulnerable citizens, it is crucial that all citizens take steps to limit in-person contact. These critical mitigation measures include social distancing and limiting the number of people interacting at public hearings. On March 18, 2020, Governor Gretchen Whitmer issued Executive Order No. 2020-15 allowing remote participation in public meetings and hearings for public bodies subject to the Open Meetings Act.

Meetings may be held electronically, including by two-way telephonic conference or video conference in a manner in which both the general public and members of the public body may participate. The public body also may use technology to facilitate typed public comments that may be read to or shared with members of the public body and other participants.

For these reasons, the City of Detroit Board of Water Commissioners will hold its March regular meeting on March 20, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. as a telephonic meeting utilizing Amazon Chime at 1-855-552-4463 (Toll Free) or 1-206-462-5569 Meeting ID: 7759 68 1050

Any member of the public may dial in to listen to the meeting. Board Members will also participate by phone. Meeting materials will be posted on dwsd.legistar.com

If any member of the public would like to speak during public comment, they must email [email protected] prior to 2:00 p.m. with their name, the phone number they will be using to call in and a brief description of comments. Your phone number will not be revealed to anyone else dialing into the meeting. OR If you do not want to leave your phone number, you may email your comments to [email protected] prior to 2:00 p.m. and your comments will be read into the record at the Board meeting during public comment.
