Transferring Water Service

Do you want to transfer water service at your property into someone else's name? Call DWSD Customer Care at 313-267-8000 or visit a center.

Temporarily Interrupt Service (Turn-Off)

Are you having a plumbing repair at your property? Are you leaving the area for an extended vacation? DWSD can temporarily turn off your water service. Authorized account holders may request a temporary service turn-off that can be restored upon your request. Call DWSD Customer Care at 313-267-8000 or visit a center.

Discontinue Service (Turn-Off)

Are you selling your property to a new buyer? Are you vacating your property? Depending on the situation, DWSD can get a closing meter reading and/or turn-off the water service. Authorized account holders can make this type of request. Call DWSD Customer Care at 313-267-8000 or visit a center. You will need to pay your balance, either before turn-off or once billed after turn-off, depending on the account status.
