Lasky Recreation Center

Located in District 3 on the Northeast side of Detroit, this small and distinctive center was established in July 1940; constructed through the Works Progress Administration program. Come inside for dance, crafts, weight room and boxing. Located next to Jayne Field the outdoor offerings are plentiful with tennis, basketball and cricket fields and soccer. Named to remember Detroit Recreation Commissioner and businessman Bernard Lasky (1896-1973) who made rec programming for the disabled a priority & understood the connection with outdoor space and healthy living.

A valid membership is required to participate in all programs/activities. Additional fee for classes/programs/activities may apply. See Community Pass for further membership and rental details. Membership not required for facility rental.
