Callahan Meadow


Meadows are areas planted with seed mixes specific to bird or pollinator habitats, providing food, shelter, and nesting sites for wildlife. They support biodiversity by attracting a variety of species, while also offering an aesthetically pleasing space for people to enjoy nature and relax.

Detroit Bird City Meadows Program

In partnership with the Detroit Bird Alliance and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, the City of Detroit’s General Services Department transforms underused parkland into vibrant native flower meadows that benefit both wildlife and local communities.
