Informational Meeting: Oakman Boulevard Stormwater and Water Main Upgrade Project

2020

The Detroit Water and Sewerage Department (DWSD) will begin construction on Oakman Boulevard between Joy Road and Tireman Avenue this spring.

In order to reduce neighborhood flooding, DWSD will be re-routing storm pipes, replacing catch basins and installing green stormwater infrastructure practices, including bioretention gardens, in the medians. DWSD will also be replacing the water main and lead service lines (where they exist).

Attend the informational meeting to learn about the project, hear the planned timeline from the contractor, and ask your questions.

If you have not signed the DWSD Lead Service Line Replacement Program agreement, please do so. DWSD will replace lead service lines, with owner/occupant permission, where they exist.

This comprehensive water and sewer project is the first of its kind in Detroit. We look forward to our continued partnership with the community to upgrade the water system and improve stormwater management.

If you are unable to attend and have questions, please email DWSD or call 313-964-9300.
