W Warren (D6 ARPA) Streetscape Project

The City of Detroit is currently constructing the D6 ARPA Streetscape Project with the completion September 2025.

W Warren (D6 ARPA) is a streetscape that connects to the Warren Gateway, a segment of the Joe Louis Greenway.  The goal of this project is to improve mobility and strengthen foot traffic safety. Street enhancements for the corridor extend from Central Street to Livernois Avenue.

What changes happened?

The proposed project includes streetscape improvements along W. Warren Avenue between Central Street and Livernois Avenue. This project aims to address traffic safety issues, create safe multimodal connections to the Joe Louis Greenway Warren Trailhead, and provide an inviting environment for neighbors and other roadway users. The improvements included cost-effective traffic calming treatments, such as lane reconfiguration, protected bike lanes, curb extensions, sidewalk repair, and other low-cost streetscape amenities with a budget of $1.25-million dollars. Construction began April 2025 and completed September 2025.
