The City of Detroit’s Construction and Demolition Department has completed the reconstruction of the historic State Fairgrounds Bandshell and surrounding site improvements at Palmer Park.

Originally located at the Michigan State Fairgrounds, the Bandshell was saved from demolition in 2021. Parts of its original structural trusses were incorporated into the rebuild at Palmer Park, breathing new life into a historic venue while reinforcing the City’s commitment to cultural preservation.
