The City of Detroit Planning and Development Department is preparing to develop a framework for future growth in the 2.85 sq mi Midwest-Tireman neighborhood, beginning September 2022. The study acknowledges the future impact of the Joe Louis Greenway (JLG) - the first segment of which is in the neighborhood, challenges of a low-density neighborhood, and the potential opportunities in future development because of its location. PDD will work with our fellow city departments, allied agencies, residents, and businesses to realize a framework for future growth that acknowledges challenges ahead while creating strategies to make connections with new opportunities.
