Mayor Sheffield has signed an Executive Order directing the Public Lighting Authority (PLA) to implement city wide neighborhood lighting improvements. 
As a result, PLA will be installing thousands of additional lights on residential blocks to improve public safety and quality of life. 
The City of Detroit and PLA are hosting a series of community meetings to hear directly from residents. 
Following community engagement, a plan/schedule will be presented to the PLA board and City Council for approval.
