A proposed resolution to amend the 2017 Bridging Neighborhoods resolution is expected to be introduced to Detroit City Council for consideration in October 2026. Below is the text of the proposed resolution.

Tonight, in another act of senseless violence, a mother and her 7-year-old daughter suffered gunshot wounds after a dispute involving children.

By the grace of God, both should recover from their physical injuries, but the emotional scars and trauma won’t be easy to overcome.
