State of the City

Looking ahead to a brighter Detroit!

Mayor Mike Duggan delivers his final State of the City address, reflecting on Detroit’s remarkable transformation and the road ahead.

Once the site of the iconic Hudson’s department store, a symbol of Detroit’s past, this location sat vacant for years after the building’s implosion in 1998, leaving a hole in the heart of the city and its residents. Today, the Hudson's Block stands tall once again, a testament to the resilience and revival of our great city.

Since taking office in 2014, Mayor Duggan has worked closely with block clubs and community organizations to lead Detroit through an extraordinary comeback: revitalizing neighborhoods, restoring essential services, attracting new businesses, and ensuring Detroiters share in the city’s growth.

The Mayor’s 2025 State of the City address will be broadcast live on the City’s cable channels; Comcast Channel 10 and AT&T Channel 99 in Detroit, and streamed on the City’s official YouTube, Facebook, X, and Instagram pages.
