On July 5, 2024 there was a block party being held in the 14900 block of Cherrylawn near Chalfonte on the west side of Detroit. Jordan Thornhill was in attendance with a group of friends. At approximately 12:50 a.m. shots were fired by unknown individuals and Jordan was fatally wounded. Jordan was 23 years old.
