The City of Detroit – General Services Department is hosting Leaders in Landscaping, a networking event. Come learn about employment opportunities for experienced landscape professionals and the exciting projects you could be a part of.

Available Positions:

Pay Range $28,496.00 - $40,765.00

• Park Maintenance Worker
• Park Maintenance Sub-Foreman
• Park Maintenance Foreman
• Park Maintenance Supervisor

Brief outline of daily responsibilities:

• Lead/Supervise, organize and direct the work of others
• Prioritize multiple tasks and projects
• Proper use of tools, materials, and equipment used in grounds maintenance and landscaping work
• Manage data collection and submit reports regularly

Minimum Qualifications:

• Experience in effectively leading teams
• Possess demonstrated ability to lead/supervise crew(s) engaged in the upkeep of parks, playgrounds, parkways, medians, boulevards and athletic fields
• Working knowledge of natural landscape and plant care best practices
• Skilled with operating a personal computer and utilizing common office software (not required at Park Maintenance Worker level)
• High school graduation or G.E.D
• Valid State of Michigan Commercial Pesticide Applicator Certification Category 6 (not required for Park Maintenance Worker at time of hire)
• Valid State of Michigan Operators License
