On Friday, March 6, 2026, at approximately 10:00 p.m., in the area of Gratiot and Novara, a 60-year-old male victim was crossing the street when a newer model Chevy Blazer with black rims and trim, and a gray lower bumper struck him. The vehicle, which has front end damage from the accident, continued north on Gratiot.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
