Si se ha registrado en el Proyecto Borrón y Cuenta Nueva y su expediente está abierto, recibirá una actualización semanal por correo electrónico sobre el estado de su caso. Los correos electrónicos se envían a la dirección que utilizó al registrarse. Revise su carpeta de correo no deseado si no recibe los correos semanales.

What does your case status mean?

Case Status	Open/Closed	Explanation
Pre-Eligibility	Pending	PCS verifies your residency.
ID Requested	Pending	There was a problem with the ID photos you submitted upon registration. We need photos of the front and back of your ID emailed to [email protected].
ICHAT Needed	Pending	PCS retrieves your criminal record (ICHAT) for attorney review.
ICHAT Updates	Pending	PCS law enforcement liaison/ICHAT specialist updates errors and/or outdated information on your ICHAT.
Attorney Review	Pending	PCS reviews your criminal record (ICHAT) and conducts a preliminary eligibility assessment.
Opening Files	Pending	PCS opens a file(s) for your conviction(s).
Eligibility Review	Pending	PCS attorneys perform a comprehensive eligibility review of your conviction(s).
Under Review	Pending	PCS obtains additional information from the court/client regarding eligibility.
Automatic Expungement Review	Pending	PCS automatic expungement specialist updates your ICHAT and/or confirms whether any of your convictions have been automatically expunged.
Waiting on Client/Records	Open	You have or had an appointment to sign expungement paper and be fingerprinted. PCS orders certified court records from all courts in which you have an eligible conviction to expunge.
Prepare for Filing	Open	PCS prepares your application for filing.
Waiting on State	Open	PCS waits for the Michigan State Police to send your criminal history and the Attorney General’s Office to send an opinion letter regarding your expungement.
Waiting on Court	Open	PCS waits for the Court to provide a hearing date.
Hearing Conducted	Awaiting Decision	We are waiting on a decision from the Court.
Hearing Scheduled	Open	Your hearing is scheduled.
Expunged by Petition	Closed	This conviction was expunged.
Expunged Automatically	Closed	This conviction was automatically expunged by the Michigan State Police and/or Court.
Denied	Closed	The Court denied your application to set aside conviction.
Ineligible	Closed	You are ineligible for expungement
No Client Response	Closed	You did not respond to our attempts to contact you. If you wish to have your file reopened, email us at [email protected] and send us photos of the front and back of your current ID.
Client Not Interested	Closed	You advised us you were not interested in proceeding with expungement. If you wish to have your file reopened, email us at [email protected] and send us photos of the front and back of your current ID.
