Riverside Park Conversion Project
The City of Detroit intends to submit a US-EPA Brownfield Clean-Up grant proposal for Riverside Park Parcel 3 on January 31, 2019. The intent of this cleanup is to remove impacted surface soils so that the park can be renovated and improved according to the Five-Phase Riverside Park Restoration Plan. Restoration of Parcel 3 will provide a beautiful and unique space for picnics and gatherings. There will also be a children's play area, picnic shelters, walking path, and concessions/comfort station on this portion of the property. Riverside Park will be an ideal place to skate board, fish, launch a boat, play ball, play with your dog, or relax and read by the waterfront.
The grant proposal is available for review:
Written comments on the draft proposal can be submitted to Anita Harrington by 4:30 pm. on Tuesday, January 29, 2019 via e-mail, or at the Detroit Buildings, Safety Engineering and Environmental Department, 2 Woodward Avenue - Suite 401, Detroit, MI 48226.
