Founded in 1984, the Detroit Senior Olympics (DSO) is our annual multi-event competition that showcases and celebrates senior athletes competing in an array of athletic and social events. With the vision that athletic competition is ageless and social activities can be fun, the DSO offers resource opportunities in the areas of health & wellness, housing, finance and networking for the senior population. The competition is open to Detroit residents and non-residents ages 50 and up. This year's competition will take place from Monday, June 8th through Saturday, June 13th, 2026.

 

Registration is open until May 15th, 2026

Person ages 50 & older are welcome to compete!

(Individuals age 49 must turn 50 by December 31st, 2026 to compete)
On-Site Registration: June 8th, 2026 – June 13th, 2026

 

Participant Fees

  • Athlete $25
  • Spectators $5
  • 5 v 5 Basketball Team registration fee: $300
  • Athlete T-Shirts: $12

Athletes may register for up to 6 events.

If athletes want to participate in these activities, there are additional fees

  • Bowling +$20
  • Golf (Rider) +$20
  • Golf (Walker) +$15
  • Pickleball +$10

Souvenir T-Shirts: $12

Award Dinner Dance: $25 - July 23rd, 2026
