Reginald Jenkins was appointed Second Deputy Commissioner of the Detroit Fire Department in 2019, overseeing Labor Relations. 

Jenkins began his career with the City of Detroit in 1996 and started working in Human Resources/Labor Relations in 1998, where he rose through the ranks, eventually being named Labor Relations Manager and Administrator of Labor Relations.

In addition to his work at the Detroit Fire Department, Jenkins teaches labor relations at Wayne State University. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Management, a master’s degree in human resource administration and a master’s degree in industrial (Labor) Relations.
