Mission Statement:
The Youth Affairs Team for the City of Detroit, founded in 2023 and officially launched in 2024, is a dynamic, youth-led initiative under the Department of Neighborhoods (DON). This team is committed to attracting and retaining Detroit's young talent while amplifying the voices of youth within our communities.
Through a variety of engaging events, the Youth Affairs Team connects Detroit residents ages 18-25 with valuable resources, career opportunities, and insights into the importance of civic engagement. These events serve as a platform to help young people explore the city's potential, understand the significance of their involvement, and chart pathways for future success.
Motto:
“We’re here for YOU-th"
